Management Team

Susan Kung, General Manager

Susan has owned many restaurants in the Ann Arbor area for the past 25 years. Now, she a desire and passion to enter the dance world with her sister Wendy. She has extensive knowledge in business management and has decided to bring her expertise in the dance world.

Wendy Bee, Studio Manager

Wendy, the founder of this studio's online shoe business in 2003, has been dancing for over 20 years. She loves to dance and has decided to take on studio management with her sister, as well as a part time instructor for the studio. With Wendy and her sister they have fulfilled a family dream to open a dance studio.

Instructors

Ron Brown, Dance Director

Ron has been dancing for 40 years and teaching for over 30 in all parts of the country including Alaska, Ohio, Texas, to mention a few. He uses dance, with a background that started with 13 years of ballet, studying from New York to Michigan, and then moving on to ballroom and latin. His one-on-one approach is distinctively customized for the dance enthusiast, whether as a single, couple, or member of a group. Ron teaches a variety of styles in private and group lessons, specializing in couples coaching.

Natalia Vail

Natasha was raised in Russia and has been enamored with dance since the age of six, when she entered the Moscow School and Choreography and Dance. There she learned drama and character dance as well. She successfully graduated and enjoyed professional performances with Moscow's Bolshoy Theatre and Musical Company.

For a change of scenery she moved to Canada and while there she took up an interest in ballroom dance. She took ballroom dance training from Ballroom Dance Studio I in Toronto. There she was one the most recommended instructors at that studio.

Now, she brings her dance expertise to Moonlight's dance team. She uses dance to express ideas, emotions, rhythms, and sounds with the body. She uses a variety of dance forms including classical ballet and modern dance to get the body moments flowing to promote a constant flow, which is often seen in ballroom dance.

Jason Smith

Jason has been teaching dance for 5 years all over the Metro-Detroit area including both University of Michigan and Michigan State's ballroom dance clubs and various studio/clubs in the area, Having a background in jazz, tap, modern, and hip-hop also specializing in social ballroom dance (Night-club 2 Step, Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, etc……) he uses body moment to get you using all parts of your body to express what you should feel out of dance. His classes are always fun because you switch partners all the time and will always be moving.

Xia Wang

With 8 years of dancing and 4 years of teaching experience Xia (pronounced "Sha") is bringing her expertise to Moonlight. She has an extensive knowledge in international and American styles of dance.

Nadira

Nadira is on of southeast Michigan's premier belly dancers, a favorite of the Arabic community, and known for her unique Turkish-Arabic Style. Nadira has studies with some of he finest dancers and teachers from New York to Michigan. Her sill as a performer and teacher is also enriched by her ballet and theater experience. Nadira began her training in belly dance in New Yore in 2001 and quickly became a regular of the New York belly dance scene. Since moving to Michigan in 2006, Nadira has continued to perform, study, and teach Arabic dance.

She can be seen at nightclubs in the Detroit metro area where she performs with tip Arab musicians. She has also collaborated with local dancers and performs regularly at local events and festivals. Nadira has been teaching belly dance classes in Ann Arbor since 2006. Her skill as a teach in enriched by her deep understanding on Arabic music and expressive culture, as well as her extensive experience as a performer and entertainer.

Louise Tamres

Louise Tamres has been teaching ballroom dance since 1990. She is a dancer since the age of 5, with strong foundation in ballet, jazz, swing and ballroom dances.

Victor Ortiz

Victor Ortiz specializes in teaching Salsa, with over 10 years of experience. His Salsa classes are alway fun!

Dorian

Dorian has over 30 years of experience as professional DJ and ballrrom dance coach. He has been created the "Dorian Bridal Dance", to help newly weds look great at their wedding reception. In 1996 he received the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Associate Certificate, and continues his own professional training with world-class coaches.

Chad Brown

Chad Brown has 4 years teaching experience. Chad teaches an American styles in private and group lessons, specializing in couples coaching.

Barry Douglas

Barry Douglas is an international performer with thousands of appearances in ten countries. He is one of the most vibrant, versatile dances to ever light up a dance floor.
